Gwen Stefani became major fund-raiser for a political candidate

According to Gwen Stefani, she dislikes making political claims. Although the singer previously stated that she thinks her opinions should be sufficiently obvious, she does not openly support political candidates or disclose her voting preferences.

In 2012, however, Stefani made it known that she supported a specific candidate. For the campaign, she raised more money than the majority of celebrities.

One of the leading bundlers for Barack Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign was Gwen Stefani. Since an individual can only donate a certain amount to a campaign, bundlers plan fundraisers and gather money from additional donors.

Stefani raised at least $500,000 for the Obama campaign that year, according to W Magazine. She was ranked first among all bundlers as a result. Together with Michelle Obama, she organized a fundraiser event at her house.

Additionally, Gwen Stefani gave the campaign a $5,000 personal donation. This is the most money she could have contributed. She gave the DNC $1,250 as well. At one point, Stefani mentioned that Obama included one of her songs on one of his playlists.
