On the first anniversary of the Coronation Food Project, the King, whose wife Queen Camilla has previously referred to him as a “complete workaholic,” is spending his special day unveiling the first two Coronation Food Hubs.
In 2023, the year of his historic coronation and 75th birthday, the King established the Coronation Food Project to address food waste and food poverty in the United Kingdom, benefiting both people and the environment. The King Charles III Charitable Fund is the program’s parent organization, and the king will open the two Coronation Food Hubs, which are intended to preserve and distribute tons of excess food, increasing the possibility that food redistribution organizations will be able to assist people in need.
At the hub he is visiting, King Charles is scheduled to observe a “surplus food festival” and hear from representatives and recipients of food banks, educational institutions, and neighborhood organizations. The King will observe firsthand how this significant task is being carried out as the Coronation Food Project expands with more facilities and resources.

Six months after announcing her cancer treatment in March, the Princess of Wales revealed in September that she had finished chemotherapy.
