The Dawson’s Creek alum James Van Der Beek recently broke the bad news that he has been fighting colon cancer in private. On August 1, James and Kimberly commemorated their 14th wedding anniversary.
However, his wife, Kimberly, who sent a heartfelt message on Instagram just hours after he made his illness public, has been there for him through it all. Her words of support and affection served as a reminder of their amazing relationship, which has endured through all the highs and lows of life.
James Van Der Beek’s wife Kimberly shared her expression
The forty two-year-antique “scientific intuitive,” Kimberly, shared a heartfelt ode to her spouse on her Instagram Stories on Sunday. The romantic tendencies of Northern cardinals, a species of bird that “mate for existence, journey collectively, sing before nesting, and feed every other seed beak-to-beak throughout courtship,” were highlighted in an picture she reposted from How Things Work.
Kimberly’s honest yet impactful caption, “Hi baby @vanderjames!” with a rose emoji, said it the entirety and tested how much she supports him through this trying time.
Love and admiration have always been a part of James and Kimberly’s relationship. On August 1, the pair, who first met in Israel in 2009, honored their 14th wedding ceremony anniversary.
During one of the most trying periods of his life, he continued to express his gratitude to Kimberly for being his “courage, strength, vulnerability, and tenderness.” On their expansive 36-acre ranch in Texas, the Van Der Beeks have created a lovely life together. On Halloween, they celebrated with their six children: Olivia, 14, Joshua, 12, Annabel, 10, Emilia, 8, Gwendolyn, 6, and tiny Jeremiah, 3.
The pair is well-known for their love of family, and their happy pictures frequently include their kids taking in the breathtaking views of their Texas home. James Van Der Beek, Kimberly, and their family have found a calm environment on the ranch that has allowed them to connect with nature and one another in a way that Hollywood just couldn’t.
James has maintained a busy acting career in addition to his valiant fight against cancer and advocacy efforts. He will feature in the high school romance Sidelined: The QB and Me, which will debut on Tubi on November 29. He portrays Drayton Lahey’s father in the movie, who is played by social media sensation Noah Beck.
