The Browns were portrayed as a united family in the first few seasons of TLC’s Sister Wives. Their loving and silly father was Kody. He supported polygamy and seemed to clearly love his wives, Robyn Brown, Christine, Janelle, and Meri.
But history has shown us that Kody was anything but. The activities depicted in the show were an attempt to portray the family in a more favorable light than it actually was.
Since then, Janelle and Christine Brown, along with a few of their older children, have talked extensively about how Kody left them after he married Robyn.
Kody Brown attributes failed romances to his children.
A few of Janelle and Christine’s kids have come forward to talk about their father’s desertion. Gwendolyn, Maddie, Garrison, Ysabel, Gabriel, Paedon, and Mykelti Brown are among those who have publicly denounced Kody.
In a Season 18 episode, Garrison expressed his emotions. In a Sister Wives episode from season 18, Ysabel stated that her connection with her father
Kody doesn’t take responsibility for his errors.
Kody Brown’s lack of fundamental accountability is one of the reasons he is so despised. He treats the majority of his family members with disrespect, denigration, and lack of concern. He also accepts no accountability for his words or deeds.
Kody snaps rather than listening and reacting appropriately to issues. The women, he believes, are “trash-talking” him to his kids. Therefore, if they have allegedly been poisoned against him, he cannot have a connection with them.
